Dear friends: Greg here. Casa Blacksmiths has been somewhat quiet since Young Family Song came out last spring, but some long-germinating seeds are beginning to sprout.

Nathan and I have been learning to play some old time songs on the guitar and banjo. We’re kind of shy about it but will try to let you know when it’s time to show our faces in public.

Nigel’s family has grown by one with the addition of Theo Rose. For her 00th birthday present he remodeled their entire house with his own bare hands (extremely blacksmith-y of him).

Speaking of new family members, we are beyond excited to have our pal Kris Branco del Capitan in the band. His drumming skills and general demeanor are bountiful and chill, like the Nile and Mississippi high-fiving on a perfect summer day.

Oh yes Summer! This summer we’re going to finish recording a new album and play tons of shows. The schedule is always evolving but for now we invite you to commune with us on June 2 at the Hotel Utah in San Francisco, June 5-6 in Los Angeles, and June 7 in Santa Cruz. We’re also psyched to offer a special performance at the legendary Ghost Mansion this June 12th.

Sacramento, Davis, Central Valley, Oakland, and maybe even some Pacific Northwest dates are on the horizon. See you all soon!

Greg Gheorghiu has joined our band. We couldn't be more happy about how this has affected our music. We've been friends with Greg for a few years now and share many things in common regarding music and life. You may know him from the wonderful band Dame Satan. We're looking forward to our first show with Greg on November 28th. He's really been a treat, can't wait to share him with you.

We enjoyed two different radio shows this month. First a long overdue visit to Michael Leahy at KDVS in Davis. First we played a few songs on his show "cool as folk" and then again at Sophias Thai Kitchen w/ Prairie Dog and James Finch Jr..

last week we were interviewed by Christian Cunningham and Ben Van Houten, they couldn't have been friendlier.  These two are the founders of "The Bay Bridged", a blog that focuses on the music made here in the San Francisco Bay Area.  You can listen to or download that interview here.
